Sotitobire: Ondo Court Finally Send Founder, 5 Others To Life Imprisonment

Prophet Babatunde Alfa and five others have been sentenced to life imprisonment.

News Rain Nigeria gathered that today, Justice Olusegun Odusola of the Ondo State High Court in Akure has sentenced the Founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa, and 5 others to life imprisonment over the disappearance of one-year-old Gold Kolawole in the church last year.

Justice Odusola convicted the defendants having found them guilty of the two-count charge of kidnapping and aiding and abetting to kidnap based on the circumstantial evidence presented by the prosecution.

He also condemned in strong terms the complicity, compromise, and lackadaisical attitude of the Ondo state police command after Gold got missing which also led the burning of Sotitobire Church.

Other defendants jailed include Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo, and Esther Kayode.

Justice Olusegun Odusola said the prosecution proved circumstantial evidence against the accused persons.

Recalled that Gold Kolawole was abducted on November 10 at the Sotitobire church on a Sunday morning after his parents dropped him off at the children’s department.

Efforts by the police and the State Security Services to unravel the mystery behind his disappearance had failed to yield results.

However, the SSS prosecuted the founder of the church, Alfa Babatunde, and six other church members for alleged involvement in the abduction of the boy.
