The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly has commended Governor Fayemi.

News Rain Nigeria gathered that Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye, in a statement signed by his special adviser on media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, described the emergence of an Ekiti teacher, Mr. Henry Olaoluwa Asubiojo as the Best Teacher in the country on Monday as a testimony of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s commitment to improved education in the State.

Mr. Asubiojo who was also Ekiti State Best Teacher (Secondary School Category) in 2019, is a teacher at Amoye High School Ikere-Ekiti. And was announced the National Best Teacher in Abuja on Monday as part of the activities marking the 2020 World Teachers’ Day.

In the statement, while commending Mr. Asubiojo for making Ekiti State proud, the speaker also disclosed that the success was not by accident but as a result of the governor’s provision of improved learning facilities across the educational institutions in the State.

Afuye also commended the governor’s various innovations through his partnership with the World Bank in the provision of rural and special subject allowances to teachers.

He said: “The State House of Assembly will continue to collaborate with the governor in passing laws that can enhance education standard in the State.”

He however urged other teachers at all levels in Ekiti State to be more hardworking as “there will always be a reward for hard work and dedication to duties.”
