Oyo Police Paraded 3 Suspected Armed Robbery, cum kidnappers. News Rain Nigeria reports that Oyo State Police Command on Thursday paraded three suspected armed robbers cum kidnappers alongside some other suspected criminals.
While briefing journalists on the development at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan, the State Commissioner of Police, CP. Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu said the suspects were arrested on 15th, September 2020 at about 6 pm, some members of a notorious armed robbery cum kidnapping syndicate who have been terrorizing members of the public in Kishi and Igbeti areas of Oyo State laid ambush at FOOLO area, close to the Oyo Forest Reserve area along Igbeti – Kishi road.
Oyo Police Parades Suspects Over Armed Robbers, Kidnapping
Nwachukwu noted that the suspected armed robbers cum kidnapping syndicate intercepted some Fulani Cattle dealers who were returning from Market where they had gone to sell their cows.
The CP further said that the notorious hoodlums who were heavily armed with sophisticated firearms attacked the cattle dealers and dispossessed them of their cell phones, a huge amount of money, and also whisked the dealers away to the forest.
” The armed robbers cum kidnappers later contacted the families of the victims demanding for ransom before they will be released from their captivity.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP. Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu gave the names of the suspects as Mohammadu Major, male aged 30, Shehu Aliu, male, 29, and Ibrahim Olawale, 22.
” Since the suspects have confessed to the crime, they will soon be charged to court for proper prosecution. CP. Nwachukwu said.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects are five AK – 39 Riffles, 83 live ammunitions, 8 Magazines, 9 Cell phones, and a cash sum of N77, 800.00.
