The Ekiti State Government has ordered the closure of all private and public schools in the State.
News Rain Nigeria gathered through a press statement signed by the Chief Information Officer, Ekiti State Ministry of Information, Abimbola Dada which stated that the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Dr. Kofoworola Olabimpe Olubisi Aderiye gave the order as a proactive step to safeguard the lives of pupils, students, teachers, and other staff members who are finding it difficult to get to their respective schools.

The statement, therefore, declared that school activities will continue on Monday 26th October 2020.
It will be recalled that the ongoing nationwide protest against police brutality in Nigeria has taken a new dimension with hoodlums allegedly hijacked the protest.
Early this morning, major streets in Ado-Ekiti and neighboring towns were blocked by protesters, while the protest has become violent.
More so governments of states like Lagos and Edo have imposed 24-hours curfew in the state to curtail the activities of the protesters.
