News Rain Nigeria reports that the Enugu State Governor. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has commiserated with families of the school children who lose their lives due to the fatal accident that happened in the State.

Governor Ifeanyi through a statement by the State Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh on Friday Commiserates with the families of the victims that lost their lives over the fatal accident that happened in the State.
Gov. Ugwuanyi through the statement of sadness with the news of the unfortunate accident commiserated with the Catholic Bishop of Awgu Diocese, His Lordship, Most Reverend John Okoye, the Chairman and good people of Awgu LGA, over the tragic incident.

 

Ifeanyi through the statement expressed his deepest commiserations on behalf of the state government to the families of the school children from Awgu Local Government Area, who died and sustained injuries in a fatal road accident that occurred in the council area.
Governor Ifeanyi assured the good people of the Awgu LGA of the solidarity and support of the state government and directed the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ikechukwu E. Obi, and the council chairman, Hon. Pedro Nwankwo to take all appropriate and necessary actions regarding the incident.
The accident which was reportedly occurred precisely at the Nkwo Junction of the road at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when the school children were returning home.
News Rain Nigeria recalled that 21 persons lost their lives in an auto crash on the old Enugu–Okigwe road.
The accident involved a low-bed articulated vehicle and a fully-loaded 608 Mercedes Benz bus conveying school children and their teachers.
It was reported that a low-bed vehicle lost control and rammed into a big school bus conveying some secondary and primary school children home, a situation that threw a lot of families within the Agwu axis of the state into mourning as a family allegedly lost three of its kids.
However, the Federal Road Safety Corps  Sector Commander in Enugu State, Mr. Ogbonnaya Kalu, confirmed the accident stressed that the fully-loaded school bus had 64 occupants,  included 61 students, two teachers, and a driver.
