Return Back To Roads-FRSC Boss Orders Officers
The FRSC Boss has ordered personnel to return to the road for work.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Federal Road Safety Corps Marshall has on Friday ordered that all the personnel should return to the road for proper commencement of work.
The Corps Marshall, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi made the declaration, through a Press Release by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr. Bisi Kazeem.

Corps Marshall Boboye according to the Press Release which a copy was made available to the News Rain Nigeria, correspondent in Ibadan the capital city of Oyo State stressed that the personnel has to return to the highway for duties after over a week off the road following the ENDSARS protests.
The statement equally stated that the back road ordered was to also mourned with victims of the Enugu State road crash, which occurred during the week in which no fewer than 20 school children lost their lives.

The statement by Mr. Kazeem recalled that Corps Marshal Oyeyemi had earlier ordered the suspension of all enforcement activities of FRSC following the upsurge of the #EndSARS protests across the country.
According to a memo that ordered Commanding Officers, saying that there was an urgent need to keep the roads safe, enforce maximum compliance to road traffic regulations and safety guides, as well as, to forestall incidences of crashes and fatalities on the highways.
The statement stated that the Federal Road Safety Corps mourned the victims of the unfortunate road traffic crash in Enugu State.
Oyeyemi through the statement stressed that out of the 56 people involved in the Enugu road traffic crash, 21 persons lost their lives.

He maintained that the crash, which occurred at Nkwo/Mmaku junction, along old Enugu/Okigwe road at about 4 pm on Wednesday 28 October 2020, involved a Mercedes Benz Bus (ENU 811 KU) conveying school children and a Flatbed Mark Truck (KPP 247 XA). The crash was caused by mechanical deficiency, loss of brake.
He emphasized that irrespective of the incessant attacks that led to the burning, looting, arson, and damaging of FRSC properties in various locations occasioned by the #EndSars protest, the Corps was still deeply committed to the full realization of its corporate mandate.
He insisted that the corps would not be dissuaded from carrying out its humanitarian work of keeping the roads safe, even amidst the risks on the lives and properties of personnel.
While boosting the morale of the entire workforce, Oyeyemi assured the personnel that everything humanly possible would be done to safeguard the lives and properties and those of family members of staff as well as its entire facilities through close liaison with security agencies.
Corps Marshal stressed that the Corps was saddened by this ugly development and was ready to put all within its operational might to ensure that such fatalities were averted on our roads.
The statement added: ”And one of the key strategies towards achieving this is the full deployment of personnel and increased visibility of patrol teams on the highways.”
