A’Ibom LG Election: Gov Emmanuel Hails Peaceful Conduct

Gov. Emmanuel Udom has commended the peaceful conduct of the LG election.
News Rain Nigeria reports Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has on Saturday commended the State Electoral Commission (AKISIEC), for conducting a peaceful local government election in the State.
Governor Udom also applauded the electorates for comporting themselves orderly and peacefully during the poll.

Udom described the local government election that was conducted by AKISIEC as a transparent and smooth one.
Governor Udom, speaking with journalists shortly after he has cast his vote declared his satisfied with the commendation at his polling unit, Awa ward 1.
Governor Udom stressed that, “I think this is one of the peaceful elections we have ever had. He noted that he drove from Uyo down here trying to monitor the elections, and  I like the quietness and orderliness of the elections and I am also surprised at the preparedness of AKISIEC, the quality of materials; it is of a very high standard.
“The transparency of the processes is commendable. They have done good work but it is unfortunate that people will still be complaining even when we score the process 99 percent. I would only encourage them to do more.
Governor Udom maintained his confidence in the way and manner the election was conducted by the AKISIEC.
He said, If I didn’t have confidence, why should I waste my time coming here? I have confidence much more than ever before. This is the most peaceful elections in the State.
