GOC, Omozoje in his remarks, stressed that Officers of all security agencies need periodic educational orientation, as they are believed to be used to have issues during the joint operation of inter security agencies.
Maj. Gen. Omozoje maintained that the various security agencies across the country needs to collectively work together to defeat crime in our society.
He said, the international security is the duty of the Policemen, and I commended the Nigeria Police Force, they are doing a lot of good, I believed it is clear now how useful they are to our society.
He said: ”There is no country across the world that doesn’t have its security challenges, stressing that it’s high time we have to appreciate ourselves that are here that are sweating and bleeding only to make things perfect for us all, it is high time our people shun the notion that the security operatives are the one creating problems for Nigeria”.
He further said: ”Those people that go around and paint the security agencies as an agency of disorder are far from reality, we are trained to do what is best for all of our citizens, despite that, we still need to educate our personnel”.
”We should continue to educate our officers, especially the ranks and file officers, which we all believe that occasionally used to have issues when there is joint task operation”.
”I will suggest there should be foundation documents for us all, where our aims, objectives, and roles of each agency’s play will be clearly stated”.
”This will further give us the details of who gives the order, who takes the charge, whenever we are having inter agency’s operations”.
The Army GOC confirmed that normally we all know that its the duty of the Customs Officer to secure our borders, but we all work together in our borders, but we should know that border is the main constituency of our sister agency which are the Customs, this foundation documents I mentioned earlier will go a long way in addressing our roles in any given inter agencies operations, and all our ranks and files Officers will also key into the system, this I think will further boost our working synergies.
Maj. Gen. Omozoje however maintained that not all Nigerian citizens are criminals, stressing that there are lots of Nigerians that are law-abiding, hence they must be well protected with their properties.
He said we are to protect the Nigerians that are law-abiding and also the government so that they can continue to contribute meaningfully to society and move the Country forward.
The event had in attendance the representatives of the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigeria Correctional Service Officers, the Nigeria Customs Officers, the Federal Road Safety Corps Officers, The Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and others.
In his lectured delivered at the event, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP. Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, who was ably represented at the event by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, the Agodi Commander, ACP. Ayodele Solubi highlighted the need for all the Security intel agencies to always work together with the spirit of love, collective, and commonality.
