Upcoming Urhonigbe Ekaba Festival Sets To Host King Wadada
Upcoming Urhonigbe Ekaba Festival 2021 is set to host Kora Award winner, King Wadada.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the born Urhonigbe reggae musician Austin Peter, Kora award winner for best Africa reggae in 2010, popularly known as King Wadada, is set to be hosted by Urhonigbe village at Orhionmwon local Govt Area.
This was unveiled by the village head , locally called Okavbo.
Recall that the annual Ekaba Festival of Urhonigbe is the most popular event ever from Orhionmon local Govt at large.

Other line up Nigerian popular Edo Funk prominent artists like, Victor Uwaifo, Shine Osemwingie Odigie, Influence Akaba, Odion J has confirmed their presence for the upcoming December Ekaba Festival.
According to the Okavbo of Urhonigbe, the complete line up artists will be disclosed by November 25, 2021.
The ancient significant event will be sponsored by ace American born Urhonigbe indigence, musicologist, activist and an American politician popularly known Mr Richard Iyasere a.k.a DaddyRich, who was honored as “African diaspora hero” in 2014 by New York mayor Bill de Blasio, while New york first lady Chirlane McCray described him as Africa Spiderman.
Some popular public figures like Ozuma of Uronigbe, Bofi ZomiZomi, Bendel Asemota, Richard Iyasere has also been nominated to perform all traditional rights during the upcoming Ekaba Festival.
“Since Mr Richard became the first Urhonigbe born to become board member of Community boards of the Bronx and a consistent member of Democratic party in New York, he hasn’t witnessed his traditional Ekaba Festival, with due respect and honor, he has contributed to Edo Funk music immensely and to the growth of Urhonigbe culture, this will be another memorable Ekaba Festival 2021” said Okavbo of the land.
According to our reporter, Ekaba Festival 2021, is open for only selected artists , who has demanded to participate in the event from March 2021 until November 2, 2021, through Go Africa Network.
