1. The Federal Government says it has spent $1.2million (about N560m) to transport Nigerians stranded in Sudan by road to safe places where they can be flown home. The Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, who disclosed this, Wednesday, also said no Nigerian had died in the fight between warring military factions in Sudan so far.

2. Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has accused President-elect Bola Tinubu of being unfit to contest for the office of President. In a reply to Tinubu’s preliminary objection in court, Atiku maintained that unlike Tinubu, his true identity, age, state of origin and educational qualifications have never been in dispute.

3. Two soldiers and 15 villagers have been reportedly killed in attacks by armed invaders on three communities in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State. Locals said that the attacks happened simultaneously at about 6pm on Tuesday in Opaha, Odogbo and Edikwu communities in Apa LGA.

4. Ahead of the zoning of the 10th National Assembly leadership by the All Progressives Congress, a leading aspirant for the Speaker seat, Aliyu Berata, has met with the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, behind closed doors. Betara, who is representing Biu/Bayo/Shani/Kwaya Kusar Federal Constituency in Borno State, met with Tinubu at the Defence House in Abuja, on Wednesday.

5. The Federal Government, on Wednesday, in Abuja, approved a total sum of N52.97bn for various projects in the ministries of Education, Works, Housing and Aviation. The respective ministers revealed this to State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council Meeting presided over by president Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

6. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has urged Nigerians to be patient with the party over the zoning of the 10th National Assembly leadership. Adamu made this known on Wednesday after a closed-door meeting held between the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice-President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, the party leadership and some stakeholders in Abuja.

7. A missing governorship aspirant for the recently concluded election in Enugu State, Mr Dons Udeh was yesterday found dead. The lifeless body of Ude, who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was reportedly found at the 9th Mile Area of Enugu State on Wednesday.

8. The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi has maintained that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) compromised its role of neutrality as an election umpire by manipulating results of the February 25 presidential polls in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

9. The Lagos State Government on Wednesday embarked on the demolition of illegal buildings in the Banana Island area of the state. The development was part of the state government’s efforts to tackle the frequent cases of building collapse in the state.

10. The Ebonyi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abakaliki was on Wednesday relocated to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for continuation of all election petition matters. The directive was issued by the President of the Court of Appeal, Monica Mensem.
