Kanu To Take Over As Enyimba Chairman

Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu is to take over as new chairman of Nigeria Premier League champions, Enyimba.

This development follows the dissolution of the former board of the Peoples’ Elephant by the Abia State Government earlier this week.

Over the past 23 years, the team had been under the leadership of Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who steered Enyimba to an impressive nine NPL titles and two CAF Champions League victories.

Sources from Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State, suggest that Kanu, a former Premier League champion, has been earmarked for the prestigious position.

With his illustrious career in football, Kanu brings a wealth of experience and expertise that could benefit Enyimba in their upcoming campaigns.

Enyimba’s participation in the upcoming CAF Champions League adds further significance to this potential appointment. The club, known as the Aba Giants, has a proud history and a strong fan base.

With their eyes set on continental glory once again, having a figure like Kanu at the helm could prove to be a strategic move for the team’s aspirations.

While this news awaits official confirmation, the possibility of Nwankwo Kanu assuming the role of chairman at Enyimba creates an air of excitement among football enthusiasts. It represents a potential merging of two Nigerian football icons, with Enyimba’s rich legacy blending with Kanu’s remarkable achievements on the global stage.

As the story unfolds, fans and stakeholders eagerly await further updates on this development, which has the potential to shape Enyimba’s future trajectory and further elevate Nigerian football on the continental stage.
