The Vice Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government of Lagos State on Friday gave foodstuffs to 300 residents of Ikate Elegushi Community to cushion the effects of petrol subsidy removal on the citizens.

The foodstuffs include rice, beans, Semovita, and spices.
She said at the event that the organisation was using the palliatives to support residents of Eti-Osa and its environs.

Adetoro said that the organisation, founded three years ago, targeted the vulnerable and artisans in the distribution of the palliatives.
She said that the gesture was aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of the residents due to the removal of petrol subsidy.
“People are hungry, and they are also angry; that is why I decided to support my own people here in my own little way and put together a food bank to give it out today.
According to Adetoro, the organisation organises annual programmes but could make distribution of palliatives a monthly event to be targeted at different sets of beneficiaries.
A beneficiary, Mrs Yetunde Olaomo, said that she was glad to benefit from palliatives.
She described Adetoro as a woman of integrity. Olaomo said that the palliatives would go a long way to help families.
Another beneficiary, Mr Idowu Tomoloju, said that he was happy to receive the palliatives.
He thanked the vice chairman for the gesture.
Mrs Deborah Fatai, who also benefitted, said the foodstuffs would give immediate relief to families.
