Many of the passengers are said to be stranded at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2).

One of the passengers said, “The Captain was trying to manage the situation but the report we had was that the plane lost its two engines.

We had two explosions and the plane lost two engines. It was God that saved us, it would have been a big disaster.

“Up till now the plane cannot move, the passengers are stranded here. They are not making any effort, they are not moving. We have complained to NCAA, they did not do anything.

“It happened around after 11. The flight 9J335 was scheduled for 10:15. Up till now they have not done anything. They have not scheduled us, they are just keeping quiet. Nobody is talking to us, it is really a very pathetic case. We have made an official complaint to NCAA.”

Meanwhile, the airline’s Head of Corporate Communication, Kingsley Ezenwa said the story is fake news.

Ezenwa said: ”Our attention has been drawn to an online post suggesting that one of our engines exploded shortly before take-off

”Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have given such a baseless post from the x handle the attention it is seeking, but for the benefit of enlightenment and our valued guests who have shown better understanding.

“Today, the 22nd of November,2023, we had some operational challenges and non-scheduled maintenance of our aircraft which led to the disruption of our schedule.

While passengers on the affected flights have been provided options and issues resolved, we are still wondering where this Twitter user got his fake news from.

”At Dana Air, the safety of our staff and customers remains a top priority and we urge the public and discerning minds to disregard this fake news which is attention-seeking and malicious,” he added.

Recall that Dana had in recent times had issues with its aircraft.

Recently, angry passengers were seen in a viral video berating the aircraft for failure to meet its scheduled departure time.
