The competition for the Super Eagles coach position is heating up, as no fewer than 12 coaches have applied for the vacant post of the Super Eagles head coach.

This is coming after the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, recently declared the position vacant following the expiration of the contract of erstwhile handler, Jose Peseiro.

Among those who applied for the position, are former Golden Eaglets and Tanzania coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, erstwhile Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, and one of Peseiro’s assistants, Finidi George.

Others who submitted their application are, Daniel Amokachi, Ndubuisi Egbo, Salisu Yusuf, and Portuguese Antonio Conceicao.

The NFF is expected to name a new head coach for the Super Eagles before the team’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.
