On Monday, 3rd, June, 2024, the newly appointed Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr. Adaora Umeoji, assumed duty at the bank’s head office in Lagos.

This was shared on the company’s Facebook page on Monday.

Recall that the company’s secretary, Michael Otu, disclosed in a statement that Umeoji’s appointment was effective June 1.

Umeoji takes over from the former GMD, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose time in office expired on May 31.

Before this appointment, Umeoji has been the bank’s Deputy Managing Director since October 28, 2016, and has close to 30 years of banking experience, of which 26 years have been with Zenith Bank.

Her appointment also makes her the first female MD of the bank.
