Nigerian politician and senator, Ned Nwoko has praised his wife, Regina Daniels, following backlash for speaking up on the nationwide protest.

Recall that last week on the first day of the protest, Regina shared a video preaching against violence.

The billionaire’s wife condemned violence perpetrated on the protest’s grounds and called for peace.

Her posts didn’t sit well with many who slammed her for speaking on the protest while marrying a billionaire politician.

Replying to them via her Instagram page, Regina lets them know that she wasn’t speaking for people to love her but for her workers to get better pay.

Meanwhile, defending his wife, Ned Nwoko commended her for her wisdom and strength of character in deciding to sympathise and support Nigerians, showing bottled-up frustrations with the apparent hopelessness in the country.

The politician noted how Nigeria’s current economic and insecurity problems are a result of decades of bad governance.

He appealed to Nigerians to be peaceful with the protests as there cannot be any justifications for more loss of lives. He stated that he has also decided that in the next few days, he will speak and write on a few realistic immediate solutions.

“I commend Gina’s wisdom and strength of character in deciding on her own to sympathise and support Nigerians showing bottled-up frustrations with the apparent hopelessness in the country.

I must add that Nigeria’s current economic and insecurity problems are a result of decades of bad governance. Please let everyone be peaceful with the protests, as there cannot be any justifications for more loss of lives.

I have also decided that in the next few days, I will speak and write about a few realistic immediate solutions, especially on the economic and insecurity problems facing our nation. As a senator, my bills and motions have been about the people. This is my passion”.
