‘I’m Not Afraid’- Obasa, Impeached Lagos Speaker Faults His Removal As Lagos Speaker, Denies Corruption Allegations

The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has faulted his removal by lawmakers.
Obasa, who spoke on his removal for the first time on Saturday, said it was important for the lawmakers to “follow constitutional procedure” to remove him as speaker.
The former speaker also debunked the allegations of corruption brought against him by the lawmakers during his removal, describing the alleged financial misappropriations as “impossible.”
Obasa who spoke to a huge crowd of supporters at the Speaker’s Lodge, 47, GRA Ikeja Lagos said: “I am not disturbed, I am not afraid,” Obasa said of the “Developments that happened at the assembly.”
Recall that Obasa was replaced by Mojisola Meranda, the former deputy speaker, who has presided over two sittings since Obasa’s removal, with the former speaker absent from the sittings.
According to report, the former Speaker was not in the country when he was impeached.
