Super Eagles Star, Victor Osimhen For Honours At 6th Timeline Nigeria Lecture & Awards

Super Eagles star and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has been penciled down to be celebrated for honors at the 6th Edition of Timeline Awareness Initiative Lecture and Awards, holding on Thursday, May 29th, 2025.

The striker who is currently on a season-long loan in Turkey playing for Galatasaray and so far scoring a total of 33 goals in all competitions for the team this season is expected to be honored with Timeline Nigeria Sports Personality of the Year and Africa Youth Ambassador at this year’s event holding at the Radisson Blu Hotel Ikeja GRA.

The socio-political annual event, which is geared to sensitise and educate the public on issues that are germane to the country’s existence as well as reward a few prominent Nigerians who are doing well in their chosen profession, is poised to live up to expectations, considering the successes over the years.

Osimhen, who recently doled out 10 million Naira to support the winner of this season’s Nigerian Professional League, Remo Stars, as always gives back to the society right from where he grew up in the Oregun area of Lagos.

The former African Footballer of the Year’s efforts in putting the country’s name in a positive outlook have been commended by many, hence, a worthy recipient of the Timeline Nigeria Awards.

The theme for this year’s edition is Importance of Media in Information Gathering, Disclosure in the Face of Security Challenges: The Achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Other Barriers.

Billed to be chaired by the Senate President, His Excellency Sen Godswill Akpabio, alongside Osun State Governor, His Excellency Sen Adeleke Ademola, Ogun State counterpart Prince Adedapo Abiodun, Sen Orji Uzor Kalu, among other dignitaries.

Guest speakers at this edition are Hon Babajimi Benson, Chairman, House Committee on Defence, and Dr Niyi Akinsiju of Independent Media and Policy Initiative, while Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai (rtd), former Chief of Army Staff, is the keynote speaker.
