ANSEC Commends Federal Government For Approval Of Onitsha Mega Bus Terminal

The Onitsha bus terminal is part of the six projects agreed upon by the federal government for the six geographical zones in the country, a project well commended by ANSEC at its 18th meeting held on the 18th of August, 2025, at the new government house, known as the Light House, Awka.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the Council anticipated making the most of the bus terminal once it is built.
This is part of the ongoing transformation in Anambra embarked upon by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in vital sectors of the state’s economy.
Over the past three years, the people of Anambra State have witnessed Governor Soludo demonstrating that effective governance is measured not by political showboating but by impacting on the well-being of the citizens, and have commended him for his laudable achievements.
The governor’s free antenatal and delivery care programme for Anambra women embodies a nuanced understanding that maternal health is foundational to community prosperity.
By removing financial barriers to prenatal and delivery care, his administration has ensured that every expectant mother in Anambra, regardless of economic status, can access quality healthcare during their critical period.
Similarly, the commitment to free education reflects a leader who understands that investing in children is investing in the state’s future.
His dedication to making quality education accessible to all Anambra children proves his long-term vision for Anambra’s sustainable development.
While transforming the health sector, Governor Soludo earned recognition as the most performing governor in primary healthcare in the Southeast region and overall, nationally.
He has upgraded primary healthcare centres and constructed five new general hospitals, equipping them with first-rate facilities and skilled personnel for efficient, affordable, and quality healthcare services.
To further enhance the sector, he employed 1,000 health workers, including doctors, nurses, consultants, pharmacists, and medical laboratory technicians, and introduced telemedicine for efficient healthcare solutions.
Governor Soludo’s innovative leadership also earned Anambra the fourth position in the evaluation of BudgIT’s State of States 2024 Report in overall fiscal performance and sustainability.
Also, in the area of agriculture, the governor’s impact has been felt with a series of empowerment initiatives to boost food security, and in security, the governor’s intervention with the state’s security system, Agunechemba and Operation Udo Ga-Achi, has made a tremendous impact in safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens.
