1. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with six governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC at the State House, Abuja. Those in attendance include the governors of Jigawa (Umar Namadi), Edo (Monday Okpebholo), Ekiti (Biodun Oyebanji), Kogi (Usman Ododo), Sokoto (Aliyu Sokoto) and Kebbi (Dr Nasir Idris) states.
2. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday rejected an application filed by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, seeking his transfer from the Sokoto Correctional Centre to a custodial facility within the Federal Capital Territory or neighbouring Nasarawa State. Justice James Omotosho declined the request, ruling that such an order could not be granted without hearing from the Federal Government.
3. The Federal Government is set to implement a full cashless policy in the collection of its revenues, banning cash payments, with effect from January 1, 2026. Under the arrangement, a new mandatory e-receipt system (FTeR) and a full-scale rollout of the Revenue Optimisation (RevOp) Platform will be implemented.

The 100 students of St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, abducted over two weeks ago by terrorists, have been handed over to the Niger State government, on Monday. Their release was facilitated by the Federal Government on Sunday night.
5. Gunmen have killed a motorist and abducted occupants of another vehicle at Amala Autonomous Community in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident in a statement, yesterday, noting that the attack occurred on Sunday evening.

Tragedy struck, on Monday, when two people lost their lives while others sustained critical injuries in multiple early-morning crashes involving heavy-duty vehicles on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, by the notorious Otedola Bridge and the Third Mainland Bridge. The accidents caused traffic choas across major corridors in the state.

Chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Sunday Oche, has cried out over what he described as “relentless and coordinated attacks” by armed herdsmen on communities in the council, leaving several residents injured and dispossessed. Speaking to journalists in Makurdi, on Monday, Oche said armed herders had gone on a two-day rampage across Ijigban, Ulayi, and Utonkon communities, attacking mourners.

The United States delegation on fact-finding mission over alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria was in Benue State on Monday where they interacted with Catholic bishops and the Tiv traditional ruler. US congressman, Riley Moore, disclosed this in a post on X on Monday, expressing strong support for Tiv and Christian leaders from Benue State.
9. Indian authorities have deported 32 Nigerians linked to a transnational drug network barely two weeks after security operatives arrested about 50 suspects in a multi-state narcotics raid. The arrests were part of one of India’s largest coordinated crackdowns on a foreign-run drug and hawala syndicate operating across major cities.
10. The Taraba State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ibrahim Tukur, has confirmed that Governor Agbu Kefas will formally join the party in January 2026. Tukur said the governor had already been admitted into the party at the ward level, but the official reception would no longer hold this month.
