The full list of teams that have qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026 has emerged.
NewsRain Nigeria reports that the 2026 World Cup, the first edition to be jointly hosted by three countries, the United States, Canada, and Mexico, is set to be the largest in the tournament’s history.
With the March international break concluded, the full list of qualified and eliminated teams has now been confirmed.
During the window, six slots remained undecided through playoff rounds, four allocated to UEFA nations and two via FIFA’s intercontinental playoffs. In Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered the biggest upset by eliminating Italy, while Turkey, Sweden, and the Czech Republic also secured qualification.

In the intercontinental playoffs, the Democratic Republic of the Congo defeated Jamaica 1–0, while Iraq edged Bolivia 2–1 to claim the final two spots.
The breakdown of the 48 slots is as follows: UEFA (Europe) — 16 slots; Confederation of African Football (Africa) — 9 slots; Asian Football Confederation (Asia) — 8 slots; Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football — 6 slots (including host nations); South American Football Confederation — 6 slots; and Oceania Football Confederation — 1 slot, with 2 additional places decided via intercontinental playoffs.
