The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday said the autopsy conducted on the corpse of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, revealed that he died as a result of drowning.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman of Lagos Police Command said this while giving report of autopsy conducted on Ifeanyi.

He also confirmed that two suspects are still being held over the death of the toddler at the sprawling mansion of Davido in Banana Island area of Lagos.

Ifeanyi died on 31 October 2022 after he was discovered in a swimming pool in his parents’ mansion.

Davido and his partner were not at home at the time of the incident.

Police had invited some domestic staff of the musician for questioning following the incident.

Hundeyin said two of those invited are still being quizzed.

“The two suspects are still with us. Autopsy has been concluded. The autopsy confirmed that he (Ifeanyi) died by drowning,” Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Benjamin Hundeyin told Channels Television on Saturday.

But he refused to confirm if the two suspects will be charged.

“I don’t want to preempt that. Investigation is still ongoing,” he said
