ENDSARS: Oyo Youths Suspends Protest

Group Campaigning against bad governance has suspended Oyo protest.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the group known as the Oyo Youths Campaign Against Bad Governance had on Wednesday suspended the ongoing nationwide ENDSARS protest in the State.
According to a communique from the group, the suspension of the protests became necessary so as to ensure proper coordination of the stakeholders involved.
The group through the communique that was issued and signed by the convener, Comrade Kunle Odujare who expressed his displeased over the Tuesday killings in Ojoo area of Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, and also the massacre that happened on the same day in Lekki part of Lagos, sympathized with the families of the dead victims, while also prayed for quick recovery of the wounded ones.

The group through its communique, however, calls on His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde to immediately under 48 hours constitute a credible judicial panel of inquiry that will look into the issues of injustice holistically.
Odujare through the communique also noted that Oyo youths are responsible and would ensure that protesters henceforth will be safe, as measures are being put in place to protect the lives of Nigerians and prevent further breakdown of law and order.
According to him, he stressed that the youths in Oyo state which is the pacesetter state will ensure that the process of expressing their minds on the need for police reforms, bad governance, infrastructural development among others will be maturely and decently communicated without crisis or causing mayhem in the state.
He added that on no account will the Ibadan protest will be violent.
Ibadan youths protesters also called on the media to continue to support the protest and give a voice to the protest, the group recognize the efficiency of the media and believe that the media will give the country an opportunity to be greater.
Odujare through the communique revealed that henceforth, announcements will be made on the location of protest in the state but has adopted Challenge, Iwo Road and Secretariat will remain the point for a peaceful protest, emphasizing that in the meantime all Protest has been suspended to allow the youths restrategize.
The group also advised those blocking the roads not to embark on such anymore but coordinatedly protest without making life miserable for the people.
