Federal Ministry of Environment has issued a flood prediction for 15 states and 69 locations, warning that heavy rainfall between 24 and 28 September 2025 may lead to flooding in specific communities.

The National Flood Early Warning Centre of the Ministry made this known in a flood alert on Wednesday, signed by the Director of the Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, Usman Abdullahi Bokani.

The advisory is part of the Ministry’s routine early-warning system aimed at preventing loss of lives and property during the peak of the rainy season.

The data also showed that at least 339,658 people were affected so far, with 681 sustaining various degrees of injuries.

The FEW centre noted that, “Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in 15 states across the country between 24th and 28th September, 2025.
