1. A total of N2.103 trillion has been shared to the Federal, States, and Local Governments from the Federation Account Revenue generated in September 2025. The allocation was at the October 2025 meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC in Abuja.

2. Gunmen have raided a police station in Zonkwa town, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing at least two officers. The incident, which occurred on Friday evening, left residents in a state of shock.

3. The United States Embassy in Abuja has issued a security advisory to its citizens in Nigeria ahead of the demonstration planned for Monday, October 20. The protest, tagged “Free Nnamdi Kanu Now, is expected to take place around Eagle Square and the Central Business District, CBD.

4. The Federal High Court in Abuja has refused the Nigeria Police Force’s bid to stop the “Free Nnamdi Kanu Now” protest, allowing it to proceed as scheduled on Monday, October 20, 2025. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had dispatched police lawyers to the court to move an ex parte motion against activist and protest organiser, Omoyele Sowore, in a bid to legally preempt the planned demonstration slated for the Aso Rock Villa.

5. At least seven persons are feared dead following a clash between suspected bandits and a group of illegal miners in Kuyello Ward, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. It was gathered that the incident, which occurred around 11am, threw the usually quiet community into panic as gunshots echoed across the area, forcing residents to flee into the surrounding bushes for safety.

6. The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, says six suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent deadly attack in Oke-Ode, where 15 people, including a village head, were killed. Ojo disclosed this while addressing journalists on Friday in Ilorin, at the command headquarters, saying the suspects were apprehended following intensified operations by the command and its tactical teams.

7. Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has denied rumours on social media that he is set to decamp to the ruling All Progressive Congress. His Senior Special Adviser on Media, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, stated this in a special announcement on the Facebook handle of the Governor’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Mugira Yusuf on Friday.

8. Rivers Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has declared that he holds no grudges against anybody after the reconciliation that followed the political crisis in the state. The Governor also pledged to give necessary support to ensure an independent and effective justice system in the state.

9. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike, says President Bola Tinubu is putting Nigeria on the path of positive development. Wike stated this in Abuja on Friday while inaugurating the construction of Collector Road C01 in the Institution and Research District.

10. The Naira depreciated on Friday, trading at N1,475.35 to the Dollar at the official foreign exchange market, according to figures released by the Central Bank of Nigeria. The decline marked the end of a week characterised by fluctuating performance, during which the local currency experienced steady but mild depreciations over four consecutive trading days.
