EndSARS: Youths Are Societal Sanitizers, Cleaners Of The Ills Of Our Society-Odafen Reveals
Ehijele Frank Odafen has stressed that Endsars protest testifies to the acuity of their thought processes and vision as well as their commitment to our National revival.
News Rain Nigeria reports that during the International Conference Center of the University of Ibadan, on Saturday, 14th November 2020, during the 72nd Foundation Day Convocation Ceremony, Dr. (Sir), Omo – Ehijele Frank Odafen, stressed that, the activities of youths during the Endsars protest testify to the acuity of their thought processes and vision as well as their commitment to our National revival.

He said: ”You may be blamed; you may be criticized; you may be called crazy and lazy. But you exist in other to infuse pleasant fragrance into our putrid society. You are the societal sanitizers and cleansers we are looking up to. So don’t be afraid, Just be calm”. Dr. Odafen said.
Nigerian Youths are not lazy, they are our societal sanitizers and cleansers that we are looking up to.
Odafen in his commencement lecture, titled “Do Not Be Afraid”, maintained that Nigerian youths are the golden keys to tomorrow, he said the 2020 Commencement lecture will have been best titled as Class 2020 graduates, don’t be afraid, you are the Golden Keys to tomorrow.
He maintained, that the peaceful, none disruptive, and non-violent nature of the campaign was highly commendable.
He said: ”the skillful organization of the protest showed how ingenious, tenacious, generous, resilient, and technologically savvy you are”.
”You campaigned for the well-being and welfare of all of us. The sophistry of your style showed that you understand and can find solutions to our intractable problems”.
Odafen charged the newly graduating students of the institution to always maintain the discipline of the institution anywhere they find themselves, stressing that the graduating students are leaving their comfort zone and commencing a new pilgrimage into the vast, precarious, wide world, with its twists and turns.
”However, the world is waiting for you; Nigeria is certainly waiting for you. You are the youths. You are idealistic, creative, and innovative. You are the smart generation, but you are highly misunderstood by society. Society views you are from the prism of superficiality and externality like your dress code and Malian hairstyle. But that is not who you are”. Said Odafen.
Dr. Odafen further said that “the recent EndSARS protests by the youths are a metaphor for all that is wrong with our society.”
