47 Cows Killed As Train Loses Track

47 cows were reportedly killed after a train derailed in Osogbo on Wednesday.

News Rain Nigeria gathered that a train coach lost its track and rammed into herds of cows killing not less than 47 with the monetary value worth N10m.

Speaking with News Rain Nigeria Correspondent over the incident, an eyewitness who pleaded anonymously said the train accident happened at the Power line Area of Osogbo, the Capital City of Osun State.

He said the accident happened around 3 pm, when a coach out of a train that was heading to Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital, broke away and lost control, and was off the train track.

“The train coach broken away, and was off the rail, and rammed into several cattle, killing cows totaling 47.

One of the cow dealers whose cattle lost as a result of the accident, Alhaji Ismail Rabiu said, cattle lost to the accident is worth about N10 million.
