Kogi Govt. is set to partner on oil palm plantations development.
News Rain reports that the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has affirmed his commitment to making agriculture the major source of economy in the State, as he recently gave total support to the Oil Palm Plantation Development Advocacy Network.
Bello said his main objective for supporting the oil Palm Plantation Development Advocacy Network is to make oil Palm the driver of the economy in the state.

Kogi Govt. On Oil Palm Plantations Development

Governor Bello made known his gesture at a stakeholders meeting on the Oil Palm Plantation Development Advocacy Network held in Lokoja, the Capital City of the State.
Speaking on behalf of the governor who was ably represented by the State Managing Director of Agricultural Development Project, Mr. Bello George, he noted that Kogi State government is ready to do everything within it reaches to support the oil Palm Plantation Development Advocacy project to ensure economic diversity of the state come to reality.
” If our oil palm plantation farm is fully developed, it can generate massive employment for our teeming youths, it will also boost the economy of the State.
“Government is working out modalities that will ensure sound takeoff of the project and promise to render workable assistance, we will also call on the civil servants and retirees to key into the program. Bello stated.
However, in his address, Mr. Joseph Idoko, who is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Oil Palm Plantation Development Advocacy Network,  urged governments to support the Oil Palm Plantation Development Advocacy Network to realize its aims and objective which is diversification of the economy from Crude Oil to Oil Palm value chain plantation.
