Ondo Decides: Akeredolu Leads With Over 80k Votes After 12 LGAs

Rotimi Akeredolu of the APC is leading Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP in the results so far collated.

News Rain Nigeria gathered that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the incumbent governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu is currently leading his major opponent in the Saturday gubernatorial election, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Eyitayo Jegede with more than Eighty thousand votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has announced the results collated in twelve local governments. According to the results declared Akeredolu has polled 189,489 votes while Eyitayo Jegede, is trailing with 108,195, leaving a margin of 81,294. Agbola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came a distant third with 37,806 votes.

From the results declared Akeredolu has the highest votes in 10 out of 12 Local Government Areas.

The INEC has suspended the collation and announcement of results till 9 am when the body will resume to collate the remaining 6 Local Government Areas and announce the final results.
