Oyo Govt. Commiserates With Gov. Makinde Over Mother’s Death

Oyo Govt., Speaker, and Hon. Olayinka has Commiserated with governor Makinde.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Oyo State Government has expressed its condolence to the State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde over the loss of his mother, Mrs. Abigail Makinde, who died this morning, Thursday, 15th, October 2020.

Oyo Govt. Commiserates With Gov. Makinde Over Mother’s Death

The State Government in its condolence message that was issued and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun stated that the late Madam Abigail Makinde will be missed for her stabilizing roles played in Oyo State while she was alive.
The condolence message stated as thus: “With a deep sense of loss and gratitude to the Almighty for a fruitful life well-spent, the Government of Oyo State hereby announces the passage of Chief (Mrs.) Abigail Makinde, the mother of His Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde,  who passed on peacefully at her Ibadan home, in the early hours of Thursday”.
”Our hearts are with the family, on the sudden departure of Mama, who did not show any sign of sickness until she peacefully departed this world.”
”While we join millions of indigenes and residents of Oyo State and well-wishers across the globe to condole with His Excellency, Governor  Makinde and the entire Makinde family over the departure of our revered matriarch, we are equally thankful to the Almighty, who gave her a glorious and fulfilled life.
We are also happy that Almighty God spared her life to witness countless accomplishments of her children, including the election of her son, Engineer Seyi Makinde, as the 8th democratically elected Governor and Chief Executive of Oyo State.
The State Executive Council, and indeed the entire Government of Oyo State, remain particularly thankful for the stabilizing roles Mama played in the Oyo State while she was with us.
We can only urge the family to please take solace in the good deeds of Mama, which will remain indelible on the sands of time.
May Mama’s soul rest peacefully with the Lord. The statement concluded.

 

Also, the Oyo Speaker of House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin in his condolence message to Governor Makinde Family described the demise of Madam Abigail Makinde as a painful and shocking one.
He said:” The death of Madam Abigail Makinde is shocking, painful and sorrowful one”.
Hon. Ogundoyin said: ” Indeed the entire Makinde’s family in Ibadan and Oyo State has lost a true mother and a prayer warrior.
Ogundoyin said though Mama was in her early eighties, her demise was unexpected at this period when we were benefiting from her elderly experience, counseling, and prayers.
