EndSARS: Akeredolu Joins Other States, Close Schools Till Further Notice

Ondo State government has closed down schools in the state until further notice.

News Rain Nigeria gathered that the state government through a press release by the State’s Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Femi Agagu closed down all schools in the state as from tomorrow.

The statement read: “Mr. Governor has directed that all schools that resumed on Monday 19th October 2020 are closed for the meantime from tomorrow 21st October 2020 because of the engulfing nationwide protest and the need to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

“Parents and the public are to note this directive and all schools are to comply.

“Any inconvenience is regretted, while the State Government would ensure the resumption of our schools as soon as possible.

Thank you and God bless.”

News Rain Nigeria had earlier reported that Ekiti State Government through a press statement signed by the Chief Information Officer, Ekiti State Ministry of Information, Abimbola Dada for the Permanent Secretary of the ministry stated that the schools in the state are closed for the next one week.

The statement indicated that the state’s Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Dr. Kofoworola Olabimpe Olubisi Aderiye gave the order as a proactive step to safeguard the lives of our pupils, students, teachers, and other staff members who are finding it difficult to get to their respective schools.

The statement, therefore, declared that school activities will continue on Monday 26th October 2020.
