Akande, said, Pa Ojebode would be sorely missed, especially for his uncommon leadership style.
Apart from been a principled politician, Baba was blunt to a fault. He was a committed Awoist and till he breathed his last, he was always giving advice and suggestion on how our party can be truly reconciled and become virile to prosecute future elections. He would call a spade by its name. And for that, he was an uncommon leader.
“No doubt, we will definitely miss him. It is painful that he too has left us at this point in time when our party needs his counsel more. Not long ago, we lost our leaders including Chief Adelere, Chief Samuel Farinu, and Samuel Akindele, whose wise counsel would have assisted us greatly in getting our party in proper shape.
“While I commiserate with the progressive circle, I also like to console the family over the demise of the late politician and elder statesman. We should all be consoled by the fact that he lived a good life and died at an advanced age,” Akande said.
Also, In his condolences message to the family of the late Chief Ojebode, the Senator representing Oyo Central senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Teslim Folarin described late Pa. Akinbode as a renowned Awoist stressed that his death is another great loss to the progressive family in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
Folarin in a statement that was signed by his Special Adviser on Media, and Publicity, Comrade YSO Olaniyi, which a copy was made available to the News Rain Nigeria, Correspondent in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, on Sunday stressed that late Pa. Ojebode will be greatly missed by the Oyo APC, as well as the people of the ancient town of Oyo.
Folarin said: I’m greatly saddened over the demise of our father, great leader, and benefactor, Pa. Samuel Akin Ojebode. Baba was a thorough-bred Awoist all through his lifetime.
“His contributions to progressive causes and my electoral victory in 2019 are immeasurable, Baba’s last most crucial political assignment on earth was marked with monumental electoral victories as he delivered House of Assembly seats, House of representatives seat and Oyo Central Senatorial seat to APC.
“I commiserate with His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III (the Alaafin of Oyo), Dr. Sokan Ojebode (founder of Atiba University), and the Ojebodes as well as the APC worldwide.
“May Pa Ojebode’s soul find solace in the bosom of our God as I pray that all of us – his sons, social and political colleagues, and families– have the fortitude to bear his loss”
Senator Folarin in his Condolences statement noted that just recently Baba hosted peaceful, fruitful, and rancor-free APC meetings of the Oyo Federal Constituency. He was an exemplary leader, considering his boldness, oratory prowess, bluntness, integrity, and dexterity.
