Prof. Deborah Adeyewa said good legacy is a vital instrument in nation development.

 

News Rain Nigeria reports that Prof. Deborah Adeyewa who is the former Vice-Chancellor of the Redeemer University, Ede, Osun State on Friday 27 November 2020 at the International Conference Center of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, during the conferment Of Hero State Award 2020, stressed that good legacy can be described as one of the vital ingredients of the nation-building.

While delivering his lecture titled ‘A life of Impact  – a legacy for generation unborn’ the former Vice-Chancellor of the Redeemer University, Ede, Osun State, Prof. Deborah Adeyewa urged Nigerian leaders to endeavor leaving an impactful legacy for generation unborn.

Professor, Adeyewa maintained that a good legacy maker must be visionary, have integrity, competent, courageous, creative, compassionate, be a provider of service, character molder, collect with people and cultivate others, if we must leave an indelible legacy.

“The nation has a deficit of leadership in the category of legacies that are long-lasting and for generation unborn.

“Some of the legacy makers we have in the country are not found in the right places we should find them.

Prof. Adeyewa stressed that sometimes the followership is also the problem, as he urges both the leadership and followership to find a means of touching generation yet unborn.

The awardee, NOA Oyo Director, Mrs. Dolapo Dosunmu, who was been confirmed with the 2020 Hero of the State Award of SouthWest Nigeria Excellence Awards(SNEA), in her remarks stressed that the award is a challenge for her to do more and posited that her wish was to be remembered as someone who consistently rais fellow human beings to the highest level in life.

Mrs. Dosumu pledged to continue commitments towards impacting positively on everyone she comes across in her life.

Dr. Honey Olawale, who is the Executive Officer of the Southwest Nigeria Excellence Awards (SNEA), described the NOA Oyo State Director, Mrs. Dolapo  Dosunmu as an uncommon outstanding performance.

Dr. Olawale maintained that the landmark achievement recorded in her chosen career made her receive the award.
