Popular Nigerian Singer Arrested By Police In Uganda

Popular Nigerian singer has been arrested by Katwe police in Uganda.

 

News Rain Nigeria reports that Nigerian singer Omar Lay singer was arrested by Katwe Police in Uganda along side the Manager of the venue identified as Dungu Ivan and the events manager Prim Kasana are also in custody.

The singer is allegedly accused of performing in a large congregation which is the against the COVID-19 guideline in Uganda.

Popular Nigerian Singer Arrested By Police In Uganda

The concert took place on Saturday after the singer and organizers was warned from performing at the concert.

The assistant Superintendent of police and deputy police spokesman of Kampala police in Uganda in a statement released on Twitter, wrote;

“Nigerian Artist Omah lay has been arrested by katwe police , the manager of the venue one Dungu Ivan and the Events manager Prim Kasana are also in custody.

“Temilade Openiyi Aka Ms Tems (Artist) was also arrested with her manager Muyiwa Awomiyi”

However, the Police is yet to disclose charges preferred against the Nigerian which could be related to doing a negligent act that could lead to the spread of a pandemic.
