He stated that the thugs invaded the property on the invitation of an individual named, Bayo Alatishe who claimed to have bought the landed property from the landlord.
He argued that the buyer has no evidence of the purchase of the said property neither has he given any prior notice of eviction to the tenants before his inhuman act.
He said, “Agreed he has truly bought the property, at least, he should have given us some time to secure another apartment instead of sending his thugs to destroy our property. He has violated court orders by sending his thugs and hoodlums to attack the tenants
I have paid for one and half years as rent. Others paid one year or more than that. We are told the landlord has sold the house but we expected the new owner of the house to give us some little time to put ourselves together. We can’t just pack out like that. He just came in now with thugs and hoodlums to attack us saying he has bought the house that we should leave now.”
All efforts to speak with the man who allegedly bought the property was not successful as at press time.
