UCL: Arsenal Finally Reach Quarter Finals After 2-2 Draw With PSV

Arsenal draw 2-2 with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday to complete a 9-3 aggregate win and entered the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.

The Gunners got a massive advantage in the first leg, having scored seven goals in the Netherlands to defeat PSV 7-1 last week.

Heading into the second leg, Mikel Arteta’s men had little work to do at the Emirates, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw and 9-3 on aggregate.

Just two minutes into the game, Arsenal took the lead through Oleksandr Zinchenko after a nice play from Raheem Sterling on the flank.

However, a lack of concentration from the Gunners gave PSV the equalizer, which was scored by Ivan Perisic.

Arsenal then pushed forward to take the lead from a Declan Rice header before the halftime break.

PSV restored parity in the second half after Jorginho lost the ball in his half, Isaac Babadi slid a pass through the heart of the Gunners’ defence and Couhaib Driouech chipped home.

The Gunners controlled the remainder of the game and held on for a 2-2 draw, qualifying for the quarterfinals.

Recall that the Gunners have never won the Champions League and have not won a European trophy since the now-defunct 1994 Cup Winners’ Cup.
