1. The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of four soldiers during the recent insurgent attack on the Military Super Camp at Ngamdu, located along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway. In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Army said the troops successfully repelled the attackers despite intense gunfire.

5. The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued nine kidnapped victims, including women and children, who were abducted months ago from Kushe Makaranta in Kagarko Local Government Area of the state. The victims were freed following sustained joint operations by the police, military, and operatives of the Department of State Services, according to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan.

7. The Peoples Democratic Party has urged the Senate to ensure due diligence in screening Prof. Joash Amupitan, nominated as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba, gave the advice during a news conference on Friday in Abuja. He urged Prof. Amupitan to prioritise the sustenance of democracy and rebuild public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral system.
8. The Police Command in Katsina State said it has apprehended 168 suspects in connection with 105 reported cases across the state in September. The Command’s spokesman, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, made the disclosure at a press briefing on the achievement of the command on Friday in Katsina.

An Ondo State Magistrate Court sitting in Akure the state capital, has ordered for the remand of a man, Ahmed Toheed, for allegedly raping and killing his grandmother, Mrs Mulikat Sanni, in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state. The defendant was arrested by the men of the state Police Command after allegedly committing the offence on September 29, 2025 at Onisere Street of the community.

The Nigerian Air Force has launched an investigation into claims that one of its airstrikes on illegal refining sites in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State may have mistakenly hit a local gin distillery. The operation, carried out on Tuesday, was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle illegal crude oil refining clusters in the Niger Delta region.
