1. The African Democratic Congress has condemned the Federal Government’s fresh N1.15 trillion in domestic borrowing, accusing President Bola Tinubu of policy inconsistency and fiscal recklessness. In a statement by its spokesperson, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC noted that despite Tinubu’s public claim that Nigeria had met its non-oil revenue targets—reportedly N20.59 trillion by August 2025—the administration continues to deepen the country’s debt crisis.

2. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Thursday, dismissed insinuations of using a disputed land issue in Abuja to fight the Nigerian military, saying he has always supported the armed forces. Speaking with journalists on the clash involving his officials and some military personnel, Wike urged Nigerians to learn to obey the laws.

3. Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, have rescued 74 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from a possible abduction by terrorists along the Buratai–Kamuya road in Borno. This is contained in a statement by the Media Information Officer, OPHK, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, on Thursday.

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, has announced the suspension of the 15 per cent ad-valorem import duty on imported Premium Motor Spirit, PMS and Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, also known as petrol and diesel. This was contained in a statement signed by George Ene-Ita, Director of the Public Affairs Department on Thursday.

5. Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to suspend its planned National Convention scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State. He said going ahead with the event amid conflicting court orders and internal divisions would worsen the party’s crisis and endanger its future.

6. The Airline Operators of Nigeria has revealed that the controversial $11.50 charge set to take effect on December 1 was initiated by the Nigeria Immigration Service but announced and set to be enforced by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority. The association described the levy as an additional burden on an already struggling aviation sector and a further burden on operators despite being passed on to passengers.

7. At least three Nigerians have been arrested in the Mwaliko Estate, Mwea Town, Kenya, on allegations of cyber fraud. Reports revealed that the suspects were apprehended by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Wednesday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Peter Chukwujekwu, Alazor Chukulute Sunday, and Nnalue Chiagozie Samwe.

8. Two Nigerians, who were part of the 42 missing refugees and migrants in a boat accident on the Mediterranean route, have been presumed dead. The International Organisation for Migration disclosed in a statement obtained on its website on Thursday that two other Nigerians were rescued alive in the incident.

The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party has stated that the wave of crisis rocking the party is self-inflicted, noting, however, that the party’s national convention scheduled for Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, will go on as planned. The Chairman of the BoT and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, stated this on Thursday in Abuja at the presentation of the report of the BoT Reconciliation Committee.
