A video has surfaced online showing the moment some passengers who boarded a Lagos-Ibadan train were left stranded after it ran out of diesel mid-journey.

The video shared online shows some passengers standing on the train tracks while others remained on the train, waiting for a solution.

According to the passengers, an announcement was made, informing them that the train had run out of diesel.

They were reportedly stranded for about 2 hours before they were supplied a drum of diesel and they refueled the train and continued their journey.

News Rain Nigeria gathered that when Mahmood Yakubu, spokesperson of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC),was contacted he said he was not aware of the situation.

“I don’t know. I am not aware of it. I’ll find out about it and feed you back,” Yakubu told TheCable on the phone.
