‎1. Attempts by terrorists to launch coordinated attacks on the Forward Operating Base, FOB Kangar, located at Mallam Fatori in Borno State, have been repelled with several of the insurgents killed, the Nigerian Army said. It said troops of Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK, Joint Task Force North East, foiled attacks by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP fighters in the early hours of Tuesday.

2. An Oyo State High Court 5 sitting in Ibadan, presided over by Justice Ladiran Akintola has directed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to go ahead with the party’s national convention scheduled for November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan. The court granted the order after an ex parte application filed by PDP chieftain Folahan Malomo Adelabi who sued as the claimant/applicant in suit number I/1336/2025.

3. A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the detained self acclaimed leader of the proscribed separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu to enter a defence in his ongoing terrorism trial or be deemed to have waived his right to do so. Justice James Omotosho issued the order on Tuesday after Kanu failed, for the fourth day, to enter his defence after the prosecution closed its case and the court overruled his no-case submission.

4. The Federal Government has appointed Dr. John Nwabueze as the Tax Ombudsman, marking a significant milestone in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing fiscal and institutional reforms. The appointment, announced Tuesday, is in line with the Joint Revenue Board of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2025 and forms part of the administration’s broader agenda to strengthen accountability, fairness, and confidence in the country’s tax and revenue administration system.

5. The Federal Government has said allegations of religious persecution could lead to instability like the case of Sudan. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, said this while responding to allegations made by President Donald Trump of America. He said Nigeria’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion and firmly upholds the rule of law, making any form of state-backed persecution unthinkable.

6. The Department of State Services has dismissed 115 personnel as part of ongoing internal reforms within the agency. In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, the service said the affected officers were disengaged over a period of time, warning the public against dealing with former operatives still parading themselves as serving DSS officials.

7. China on Tuesday rejected the United States’ threat to take military action against Nigeria, saying it is firmly opposed to any external interference in the country’s internal affairs. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, stated his country’s position in a statement published on the ministry’s website.

8. The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has issued a stern warning to political thugs ahead of the election not to undermine security or compromise the credibility of the exercise. Egbetokun gave the warning on Tuesday in Abuja at the Cleen Foundation 2025 Anambra Governorship Election Security Threat Assessment, STA Dissemination.

9. Four persons have been killed while many others sustained serious when suspected armed herders attacked Anwule community in Oglewu, Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State. It was gathered that many people have also been declared missing in the two days of attacks in the farming community.

10. The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted an order for the interim forfeiture of a popular entertainer, Pretty Mike’s Victoria Island property, alleged to have been used for drug dealing and storage. Justice Musa Kakaki made the order on Tuesday following an ex parte motion filed and argued by the counsel for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr. Buhari Abdulahi.
