See Video As Regina Daniels Vows To Fight For Custody Of Her Children Amid Rift With Senator Ned Nwoko
Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has vowed to fight for her children and raise them by herself amid tension with her “ex-husband”, Senator Ned Nwoko.
This was gathered in an emotional video shared on her official Facebook page early Wednesday morning, when the 24-year-old actress revealed that she is going through emotional turmoil and sleepless nights.
“I am finally in front of the camera trying to explain my family’s problem,” she began.
“It’s 5 a.m., and I had to wear this wig. It’s 5 a.m., and I haven’t slept because I can’t. My family is actually in turmoil. It’s crazy, but we will come out of it.”
The actress, who seemed determined to maintain composure throughout the video, said she drew courage to speak publicly after seeing the overwhelming support from her family and fans.
“What gave me the courage to make this video is that my family—my mom, my brothers, everybody—is fighting for me,” she continued.
“My brother just started a petition, and in less than how many hours, a lot of people have signed up. That means it means work. This video shouldn’t even exist in the first place.”
Daniels then shifted to address her estranged husband directly, vowing to stand her ground and protect her children, regardless of the challenges ahead.
“I am going to fight for my children, Ned,” she said firmly.
“I tried to be calm, I tried to let go, but I will fight for myself. I will take them, I will raise them with or without your support. And you know I will do it, my love, ex-husband.”
“This feels like I am acting, but guys, this is me,” she said.
“If I haven’t slept by 5 a.m., tell me why everyone else is moving on? I am not going to cry, oh—they don’t use to do that in front of the camera. I like this video; it means I am tough, and I am not crying.”
Despite the tension, Regina’s tone softened as she made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians to stop attacking her mother, whom she described as her “pillar and protector,” and vowed to raise her sons with or without her husband’s support.
“Hey guys, please stop insulting my mom, I beg you. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.
She’s my God on earth. For seven years, my mom held it down. You all insulted her, but she tried.
She warned me. My brothers warned me. Everybody did,” Daniels said.
She revealed that her family initially opposed her marriage to Nwoko, but she went ahead because she was in love.
“Everyone said no. My mom warned me, my brothers were fighting, breaking bottles.
I even went to the police station and said, ‘Arrest me! My family doesn’t want me to marry the love of my life,’” she said.
Daniels dismissed long-standing claims that her mother forced her into the relationship for financial reasons, stressing that she had always supported her family even before marriage.
“You all should stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me — we were not broke!
What amount of money can a man give to a mother who already has a child providing for the whole family? Through me, my mom trained all her children.
I was a blessing to her, and God used me to settle her,” she said.
In the same video, Daniels spoke passionately about her sons, Munir (born 2020) and Khalifa (born 2022), vowing to protect and raise them regardless of any marital challenges.
“I’m going to fight for my children. I’ll take them, train them, and raise them with or without your support,” she declared.
Despite her emotional tone, the actress said she still respects her husband.
“I did fall in love, and I still care and respect him. That’s love — care and respect. The only reason I’m not fighting you, Ned, is that I want Mona and Khalifa’s father’s name to remain strong. But they can take mine,” she said.
In the caption of her post, she reaffirmed her independence, “For the record, I don’t regret anything.
Na only me carry my leg enter. This was a route I was meant to take — not my final destination.”
The couple, who got married in 2019 in a union that sparked nationwide controversy due to their wide age gap, share two young sons.
