Over 250 vibrant entrepreneurs, business owners, and C-suite executives recently gathered in Ikeja, Lagos, to learn from Dr. (Mrs.) Catherine Opeyemi Adesomoju and mentors in business, health, and family life.

The 2025 edition of Time-Out With Kate, an entrepreneur and business-growth support conference, was its third since its debut in 2023.

Dr. Kate—affectionately known as Sister Kate—is a respected evangelist, entrepreneur, author, and business leader.

She serves as the MD/CEO of Spectrum Holdings, the parent company of Spectrum Innovation Technologies Ltd. and Spectrum Phones Ltd.

With a growing workforce of over 200 employees, the company leads in the distribution of phones, accessories, and energy products across Nigeria and parts of Africa.

This year’s summit, themed “Building Transgenerational Businesses,” featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including leadership strategist Niyi Adesanya and Goke and Abimbola Balogun, co-CEOs of SoFresh.

The event was made completely free through the generous support of His Presence Foundation, a humanitarian initiative where she serves as a key board member.

Beyond sponsoring the summit, His Presence Foundation supports educational scholarships, business grants for struggling startups and women-owned SMEs, and charitable outreaches that provide food, Bibles, and interdenominational support.

During the conference, Sister Kate delivered a powerful keynote titled “From Rich to Wealthy: Building Transgenerational Wealth.”

Using the acronym R.I.C.H., the Lagos Business School and Harvard Business School (OPM 58) alumna described “rich” individuals as Revenue-focused, Image-driven, Cash-heavy but Capital-poor, and hustling without long-term integrity or structure.

In contrast, expanding the acronym W.E.A.L.T.H.Y., she explained that wealthy people are Wise, Enthusiastic visionaries, Action-driven Learners who leverage Technology, prioritize their Health, and Yield to God for guidance in their decisions and enterprise building.

Quoting Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created…”, Sister Kate emphasized that entrepreneurs are creators who must deliberately START with value, SYSTEMIZE with structures, SCALE as they grow, and develop others for SUCCESSION so that SUSTAINABILITY is achieved.

Niyi Adesanya reinforced her message, highlighting that transgenerational success is built not only on assets but on transferable mindsets, systems, and structures.

Other speakers included Prof. Folu Olatona, Dr. Abiola Salami, and Mrs. Yomi Adewale.

Dr. Catherine Opeyemi Adesomoju, a University of Ilorin Business Administration graduate, FIBAKM Fellow, and holder of an honorary doctorate in Corporate Leadership and Entrepreneurship Management, is married to her lifelong friend and chairman of Spectrum Holdings, Mr. Akindeji Adesomoju.
