NAWOJ, Lagos chapter, has announced its iconic Woman of the Month for April.

 

 

NewsRain Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has named Professor Abigail Ndisika Ogwezzy as its Iconic Woman of the Month for April 2026, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to media education and scholarship.

The honour, awarded under the NAWOJ Lagos Woman of the Month initiative, celebrates women in Lagos State who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to societal development.

A professor in the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, Ogwezzy has built a distinguished career as an academic, mentor, and thought leader, shaping generations of students and media professionals across Nigeria.

NAWOJ Lagos Chairperson, Jumoke Johnson, praised her dedication to academic excellence, advocacy, and public engagement, noting that her influence has strengthened the communication field and contributed meaningfully to national discourse.

The association commended her role in mentoring young professionals and empowering women in the media space, describing her recognition as well-deserved and an inspiration for continued excellence and leadership.
