Salako-Ajulo was honoured for her more than two decades of advocacy in consumer protection and her influence on improving transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s marketplace.

Popularly known as “Consumer Mama,” she began her advocacy journey in 2003 with her column Handwriting on the Wall and has since built a career focused on empowering consumers through education and policy engagement.

As founder of the Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria, she has spearheaded several initiatives, including the 2016 #NoBankingDay protest against excessive bank charges.
