Makinde has called for peaceful coexistence as Nigeria clocks 60.
News Rain reports that Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Mamknde has on Friday called on Nigerians to embrace peace irrespective of their religion, ethnic or political affiliation to promote peaceful coexistence of all and sundry.

Governor Makinde who was represented by his Deputy at Special Jumat prayer, at Oja-Oba Central Mosque, marking the 60th nation’s Independence said people need to embrace peace in their respective communities.
Makinde maintained that peace and security were paramount to sustain the unity of the country, he also stressed that people in Oyo state, have been living in peace.
He said ” Oyo State people have been living in peace and I want us to continue to be our brother’s keeper, the security of the state was in the hands of everyone.
Governor Makinde however  congratulated the people of Oyo state and all Nigerians as a whole for witnessing the 60th anniversary, he also urged them to continue playing their respective roles for the growth of the country.
 The Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheik Abubakr Agbotomokekere, in his sermon,  said Nigerians should always appreciate God, who preserves the nation till now.
He urged Nigerians not to relent in praying for the unity and peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians.
Agbotomokekere also prayed for the successive administrations of President Mohammadu Buhari and Gov Makinde in Office.
