Speaking to journalists in an interview, the Senior Project Manager at Fairtrade Messe, Freyja Detjen said the international trade show and conference will focus on agro-processing, technology, and packaging, saying it is aimed at fostering innovation, industry development, and local production in Nigeria.
“It is an international trade show and conference and it addresses the agro life processing and the technology as well as the packaging industry and brings together the players of the industry to discuss, innovate, and develop for Nigeria.

Detjen said official national pavilions from China, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and South Africa, would be part of the show.
“Reflecting the partnership between Nigeria and Germany, this designation highlights German expertise in these sectors and provides opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and business development between German and Nigerian stakeholders.” She concluded.
Also, the Chairman, Local organizing partner, Odion Aleobua said Lagos is a center point for commerce, and this platform is bringing stakeholders across the world, adding that the platform will attract economic leaders from participating countries.
He said: “These stakeholders are coming not just to do business but to create real value. Their presence reflects confidence in our economy, it will create value. And what that means is the confidence that it shows in our economy.
And as they find the right partners, we will see investments materialize, innovations emerge, and global best practices implemented locally,” he said.
Finally, one of the participants of last year’s exhibition Mr. Kanayo Akunwa, marketing insight manager at GEA West Africa Limited said: “Last year, we were privileged to have a President in our booth, after that, we were still able to engage him in an external meeting after the exhibition, and that was a good one for us because that way we were able to present our solutions to him.
Also, we have been coming for Agrofood Nigeria for a while now, and it has always been an opportunity to meet other exhibitors and build a well-competent and qualified contact with people who are coming from the external space“.
Speaking on his expectations this year, Mr. Akunwa said: “Our expectation this year is to build more networks, and to let them know that we are here to sell, to support them in every capacity that they want, and to bring the best in their production as suppliers of food processing technologies“.
