Kylian Mbappe To Finally Wear No. 10 Jersey At Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappe is finally set to wear the iconic No. 10 jersey for Real Madrid next season, transitioning from the No. 9 shirt he wore during his debut campaign at the Bernabéu.
The coveted number became available following the departure of club legend Luka Modric, who joined AC Milan this summer after 13 illustrious years in Madrid.
Mbappe, who also wears No. 10 for the French national team, had long set his sights on the number at Real Madrid.
According to sources, the plan was always for him to take the No. 10 once it became vacant.
However, he was willing to retain No. 9 for another season if Modric had renewed his contract.
The 26-year-old striker enjoyed a debut season in Spain, netting 44 goals across all competitions and clinching the European Golden Shoe.
Mbappe now inherits one of the most storied shirts in Real Madrid history, previously worn by legends such as Ferenc Puskás, Luis Figo, Mesut Özil, and Michael Laudrup, adding his name to a prestigious lineage at the club.
