Videos and photos have emerged as Taiwo Hassan’s family holds an 8-day Fidau prayer.

NewsRain Nigeria reports that the family of late veteran actor and filmmaker Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has held his 8-day Fidau prayer today, Monday, August 31, 2026, in Ilaro, Ogun State.

Recall that Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at age 66, after battling stage-four cancer.

His daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced his death during an Instagram Live session.

The late actor was buried on Monday, August 24, in Ilaro according to Islamic rites.

The ceremony was attended by colleagues, friends, and associates from the entertainment industry.

Announcing the Fidau on behalf of the family, his daughter Kira appealed to friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers to join the family in prayers for the peaceful repose of the late actor.

The prayer session is taking place in Ilaro as part of activities concluding Ogogo’s burial rites.

Meanwhile, tributes continue to pour in for the veteran, with colleagues describing him as one of the major figures who helped grow Yoruba-language cinema.

Ogogo enjoyed a career spanning more than four decades as an actor, producer, director, and filmmaker.

His work earned him a special place among lovers of Nigerian cinema.
