FG Lifts N-Power Suspension To Begin Payment Of Backlog Soon
The Federal Government has Lifted the N-Power suspension to begin payment of the backlog soon. This was disclosed by the Minister of State for humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction
According to the Minister, the suspension on all social investment programs including the NPower program has been lifted. He stated that the Npower beneficiaries’ bills will be settled and the program would continue.
Grants to vulnerable groups and other NSIPA Programmes will be restored in better forms, he added.
Recall that President Tinubu had earlier suspended the Npower and other NSIP program due to misappropriation of funds by the managers.
With the embargo lifted, the National Social Investment Programme, encompassing Npower, Conditional Cash Transfer, Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, and Home Grown School Feeding Programme, can now resume disbursements to its beneficiaries.
This breakthrough provides much-needed relief to those who have been adversely affected by the payment disruptions.
