Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Oniru of Iruland, Oba AbdulWasiu Gbolahan Lawal.

According to Oba Lawal, who shared photos of the visit on his twitter handle, he was pleased to host the Davido, a talented and sensational young man.
He said he was very pleased with the conversation he held with him on the prospects and possibilities for tourism.

“My lovely Olori, Mariam, and I were pleased to receive the very talented and sensational Davido as well as Seyi Tinubu yesterday. I was very pleased with our conversations and the prospects and possibilities for Tourism.
“Keep your fingers crossed for a collaboration to take Iru to greater heights. Meanwhile, I hope you have registered for the Sustainable Cities (aka Olokun) Dialogue this Friday. I’ll love to see you there,” he wrote on his twitter handle.

Davido reportedly visited the new monarch in the company of Seyi Tinubu, a son of the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The singer was captured as he prostrated to greet the Royal Father and his wife, Mariam as a true Yoruba son.

The singer has been on courtesy visits to some notable persons across the state. A few days ago he was with the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Mc Oluomo.
It will be recalled that on September 6, Oba Abdul-Wasiu Omogbbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II was officially installed as the 15th Oniru of Iruland.

This was as the result of the passing of Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru on September 19, 2019, which made the grand throne become vacant.

And to fill it, a deserving prince must be found. Eventually, this search led to Prince Gbolahan Lawal, who was at the time the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture.
After observing the necessary traditional consultations and constitutional processes, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on June 7, 2020, presented the staff of office to Oba Abdul-Wasiu Omogbbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II as the 15th Oniru of Iruland.

Once this was done, the new monarch proceeded on a three-month immersion in customary rites, and on September 6, he was officially installed in the Iru palace after his coronation as the latest Oba of Iruland.
